Maskne. A question I receive a lot lately.
Who knew I'd be writing a blog post about Maskne. It's officially a thing. Wearing a mask can show up in the way of acne and irritation on the areas of your face where your mask is covering. There are several reasons why this occurs.
1. Moist air becomes trapped underneath your mask and ends up clogging pores.
2. Your mask can also then cause irritation by 'rubbing' or friction in these areas. There are absolutely things you can do to help with this issue.
Be sure to cleanse your face prior to going to bed. This is when all the 'dirt' from the day can clog pores. This is super important no matter what.
I formulate a really nice plant-based cleanser:
After cleansing, apply my Rose Gold Facial Serum. You only need about 5-6 drops. Massage this all over face/neck. It is a light oil but I promise it will absorb in really nice. You can apply this in the evening.
Evening is when our skin regenerates so it's a great time to apply products for healing. This serum contains really beneficial oils that help with acne.
**I also use this in the morning!
Finally, I recommend my Dragonfruit Exfoliating Foaming Mask. This is a powder. Take 1 teaspoon of the mask to 1 tsp of water, mix in a bowl. Massage in gentle circle to your face. Leave on for 15 min.
Apply this 2x per week. It will gently help exfoliate and unclog congested pores.
That's it. Give these products a small amount of time and your skin will begin to heal.
